Bear Print Men's Tee
Kiss Cowboy Print Women's TeeThe very wonderful and very talented Beth and Mitch have opened the doors to their brand new website. It's all shiny and new and waiting for good folk like yourself to take a squiz.
They're one of those couples that are so hip that it hurts (Mitch has, hands down, the most amazing tattoos I've ever seen, and Beth is just all sorts of cute and lovely) but are just as nice as they are rad. That's them smooching up there. Cute, no? They've been working hard on making things - I distinctly recall a conversation with Mitch some time back about the perils of finding the perfect fitting tee shirt - and their newer things are still to come!
Take a look at their stuff and see how great they are for yourselves.

We're off to Brisbane for the weekend! Joshua's aunty (you know the type, the super funny lovely one that I'm fairly sure every family has) is turning the big 50 so we're heading to Queensland for a couple of days - nothing says romance like a weekend away with extended family. I've got fabulous yellow shoes which I'm very excited to wear, and I'm also keen for an excuse to not be doing uni work and to read Frankie.
Joshua bought me a copy this week (thoughtful boyfriend points, most definitely) but I've had to exercise great restraint and prioritise other work over devouring its pages.
It will be my first time on an aeroplane - other than a jaunt when moving interstate as a 3 year old- and my first time to sunny Brisbane, so there's lots of exciting things happening!
I'll be back soon with lots of photos!

Chopped

I chopped off all my hair! The tired tresses were in need of a bit of a revamp, so I had them cut into a curly bob. It feels a little Sally Draper after her home-haircut crossed with Suri Cruise, but I'm hoping it will settle in soon enough.
I very nearly cried at the hairdressers (despite having prepped myself for a week) and it's a bizarre sensation being able to touch the back of my neck with ease. I do like being able to shake my head and feel all my hairs move, and I expect my conditioner usage to decrease quite a lot.
The last time I cut my hair was at the tender age of 14 and it resulted in an afro-like triangle. Thank goodness the hairdresser this time around understood the importance of layering, and I understand the importance of researching a hair cut before going the chop.
I think the rather drastic change has turned me into some sort of mad woman. This morning, I cut my fringe on a whim. Wild, hey?

Mum, please don't be mad. It's even shorter at the back.

Tune Tuesday

It's unashamedly a Beach Boys day. I'll be spending my Tuesday making a stop motion movie and running parcels to the post office - and the weather is all freakishly sunny again (Sydney weather is horribly confusing at the moment).
Little known fact about Megan and The Beach Boys - I once performed to this song wearing a lavender one-piece swimsuit and shaking a ribbon adorned timbrel. I can't listen to this song now without having flashes of mauve coloured lycra and hearing bells in the distance.
Hope your Tuesday is productive and sunny and all sorts of lovely.

Loukas

I've spent the last three weeks scouring the land (and the wider internet) in search of a jumper with a baby penguin on it. Loukas has a picture of an adorable Asian gentleman wearing an adorable jumper with a very adorable baby penguin on it. I thought it would be a great birthday present if I could ever find it - which I haven't.
On the creative front, I've been working on some other fun fellows, and the one above is dedicated to Loukas since I couldn't find him anything wearable.
Happy Birthday, my dear friend. x

Tune Tuesday

Covers are awesome. Especially when they're by Julia Stone and a Grease cover. Gorgeous, right?

Animalia

It's been forever and a day since I've put anything in my Etsy store. I've been getting a few things together over the last couple of weeks in preparation of grand endeavours. I've now got some new brooches in the shop for your perusal! Monkeys, birds, horses, bears, bunnies and foxes! In a whole assortment of colours too. Take a look!

Naturally

I know it's been ages since I've shared anything of my own on here. It's a fairly vicious cycle. Uni takes a fair bit of work, which means I spend a lot of time at home doing that work, which means I don't have time to go anywhere exciting or take pretty photos. Hard life, right?
In a serendipitous moment, on my walk to work on Friday, Vinnies was open extra early.
Behold, the ultimate golden book!

It's quite possibly my very favourite nature-history-book-purchase of all time. Thank you, 1968.
It also cheers me a little that these taken-at-6pm photos look especially golden - daylight savings is delicious!

Evoke

5 months is an awfully long time to wait to buy a radio. Then again, it is an awfully nice looking radio.

Tune Tuesday

I saw this on Tabitha's blog yesterday and thought you might like to see it too! A very beautiful film clip from The Honey Trees. Even their name is pretty.
You can buy their EP here, listen to some more of them here, and even follow them on twitter here.
Oh, you can also go here and see more of Simon Filips work. He's the magic movie man who made this clip look so beautiful.

Well Stood

Bird Ceramic Cupcake Stand with Scallop Bell JarLarge Poppy Bowl in YellowBird Cupcake Ceramic Stand

I'm currently on the hunt for something to hold some treasures in. It needs to be shallow, and it needs to be big. Ideally, I'd like it to be a pretty teacup. Matt suggested I try a planter of sorts, claiming I can find them cheaply and at a size I'd like. The only ones I've found so far look pretty horrible. My quest continues. While hunting, I found this lovely little Etsy store that is jam packed with handmade pottery pieces. Go and visit Whitney Smith's store for a better peek.

Finders Keepers Melbourne

Finders Keepers is having its first ever Melbourne markets this weekend! If you're in Melbourne, you'd be crazy not to be there. You can see all the details on The Finders Keepers website, and read a great interview with Brooke and Sarah over on The Design Files.

Giant

Where would one come across such an enormous flower? The hand painted banners, the colourful giclee print invitations, and the GIANT flowers. Weddings are just mind blowing these days.

Hello, Sailor!

I don't drink very often, mostly because it takes very little to have me feeling tipsy, and I manage to say stupid things with quite a high frequency - and that's usually without alcohol assistance.
These plastic bottles from Sweden would probably have me reconsidering.
I cross between loving them and their retro-tattoo look, to suddenly feeling like they're a little Ed Hardy inspired. I think I'm mostly in the cool camp though. Alcohol rarely looks so wonderfully illustrative.
Spotted on The Dieline.

Invite

Last week Emily at The Daily Smudge was sharing wedding stationers - you should definitely go and have a squiz, and stay tuned for some more this week. I'm partial to paper invites myself, and saw these little guys a week or two ago on FPO.

Tune Tuesday

I'd like to firstly apologise for how quiet it's been around these parts. I've been having terrible problems with my internet connection which makes blogging rather troublesome. My mum rang me with a panicked sound in her voice saying "You haven't put anything on your blog since Tuesday! What's the deal?" and I felt shamed. Internets are a bother.
Consider this my humble apology for my lack of posting, I will endeavour to battle the internet to bring you delicious finds.
Given it's a Tuesday, a music clip is in order! Today's tasting comes from Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon working their way through 30 years of hip hop.
As the lady-friend of a young man with a penchant for rap/hip hop/all things ghetto, you'd think the novelty of white men thinking they're rappers would get old. It doesn't - and this video is just further entertainment. It's pretty good, it's just a shame they had to end on Empire State of Mind. Joshua thinks it's their way of pandering to a white audience and giving them what they want. He should know, after all.
